Human causing global warming

Many of the human activities are responsible for the vast changes in Earths climate. The human activities that are increasingly affecting the nature is the increased concentration of green house gases in the atmosphere, airborne particles, alterations of land, increasing air pollution, etc. The emission of green house gases such as chlorofluorocarbons; carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, etc. are causing drastic changes in the pattern of nature and many other naturally occurring activities. Carbon dioxide concentration is increased in atmosphere due to changes in land use and burning of fossil fuel. Carbon dioxide has increased more than 80% since 1900. Research shows that this increased level of carbon dioxide will be present in the atmosphere for thousands of years. It is certain that this increasing level of green houses gases will cause the Earths surface to get more and more warm.

It is difficult to predict certain climatic changes which are induced by human activities. Difficult to say as what will be the speed of occurrence, exactly what amount of change will take place in the climate, what will be the location of change as no scientists can predict the level of human activities taking place? Scientist is sure of other predictions about what these human activities result to. They are confident about their prediction such as melting of ice in polar regions, the mid continents will be much more warm as compared to oceans, the sea level will rise, change in pattern of hydrologic cycle which will result in lowering or raising of water supply that might result either in draught condition or flood, etc.

The level of global warming in future will vary to great extent as there will be changes in economy, population, rate of emission of green house gasses, etc. Even if measures are taken to decreases the emission of certain pollutants, the effect of the green house gasses already present in the atmosphere will not decrease or reduce as they are present in atmosphere in concentrated form. To prevent the dangerous effects of global warming it is most important to stabilize the concentration of green house gasses in the atmosphere.

Humans preventing global warming.

Global warming has already started with its impacts on Earth and the increasing level of green house gasses in the atmosphere will lead to increasing impacts. It is necessary that humans considrable make efforts to prevent global warming at this critical stage. Humans can take efforts to get the information as to how every single human can contribute to protect the nature. The effects of global warming can be brought to most of the humans by way of education or seminars or lectures which might help humans to understand as how their activities are affecting nature and finally the result is global warming.

The history of global warming explained

From ancient times it is believed that humans are responsible for climatic changes. This belief was questioned after the discovery of ice age as it was proved that climate changes itself and it has its own cycle. But what was the cause for global warming or the how was global warming discovered?

It was in 1896, Svante Arrhenius, a Swedish scientist came up with his discovery saying that the human activity of burning fossil fuel has added carbon dioxide to the atmosphere of the earth that will raise the temperature of the earth. This discovery was a by product of his research about whether carbon dioxide could describe the causes of Ice ages.

In 1930s it was discovered that the regions of North Atlantic and United States were going warmer and warmer with passage of time. This was thought as the part of nature’s climatic cycle and the cause was unknown. It was then that G. S. Callendar marked this as indication of greenhouse effect. This indication provoked many scientists to look into the matter.

In the next decade scientists were coming up the surprising researches and discoveries about the temperature of the planet, calling it as global warming. In 1967, the calculation of scientist showed that there might be rise in temperature of earth by few degrees within the next century. Actually speaking the next century speculation was far off as the planet had already started experiencing the effect of sudden climatic change. At this stage scientists believed that there was need for more research and find out what will this global warming result into?

Scientist was of opinion that finding a single solution to this problem would be of no use as the climate is responding to many changes. It was a controversy that whether global warming is a natural climatic cycle or the result of human activities. The climate was on a very delicate balance and even a small shift might change the future of the planet. Antarctic and Greenland showed great changes in temperatures which was again an indication of global warming.

In late 1970s the global warming was showing the evidence of its presence and there was a warning from scientists to reduce the emission of green house gasses. The first climatic change was in 1988 and has the hottest record. The prediction of scientists of 1980 about the temperature of planet was proved to be correct. Today humans, wildlife and nature are giving proof of effects of global warming by one or another way or suffering.

Deforestation is another cause of global warming which we can bring in control. A lot of trees are being cut for either industrial or residential development. By doing this we throw tons of carbon dioxide into atmosphere every year causing global warming.

If I had to explain in simple words, then I would say, global warming is basically rise in the temperature of the planet Earth due to reasons like increased emission of carbon dioxide, methane and deforestation.
